Kursten has a depth of knowledge about project management that is rare in Saskatchewan. He holds professional designations in project (PMP, PRINCE2), programme (MSP), portfolio management (MoP), business case development (BBC) and sustainability (LEED AP). He is also a professional engineer. Having good project management capabilities is not uncommon. However, being able to apply the broader knowledge of how a project fits within the bigger picture, such as capital plans and strategic objects, is rare for a project manager. Our expertise in capital plan delivery (portfolio management) and the nuts and bolts of project delivery will help you to achieve lasting successful results.
Kursten has been managing projects and teams for the majority of his 18 year career. He works at the expert level with project management principles, project governance, project controls, construction delivery models, negotiation, contract law and administration, the Builder’s Lien Act, and project technical and constructability issues. He has many years of experience working on unique civil and buildings construction projects.
As a proud locally raised member of the community, Kursten has dedicated his personal and professional efforts to the local area since convocation from the U of R and U of S. He believes in giving back to the community and volunteers with the local Project Management Institute Chapter on the Board of Directors, past volunteer as a big brother and provides corporate support to the local Big Brothers chapter. He is also an avid outdoor enthusiast and enjoys hunting, fishing and generally spending time in the Saskatchewan and Manitoba back country.
